Hair is made up of a shaft and a bulb. The bulb is located at the base of the hair follicle. Within the bulb lies the germative cells which are responsible for the reproduction of hair. In the removal of unwanted hair it is best to do so when the hair bulb is at its most active stage, as this will ensure a long-term result.
Hair on the human body lies at different levels of the skin, therefore making hair removal a very complex procedure. To add to this complexity hair also grows at different stages and it is crucial that we remove the hair in its gerrnative state, which is known as the Anagen stage.
The three different stages of hair growth are Anagen, Catagen and Telagen. The Anagen stage is the most relevant in hair removal as it is the stage were your hair is most active. Each area on the body has different percentages of Anagen hair and this will determine your hair growth pattern. Due to hair growth pattern, clients will normally have multiple treatments to ensure long-term hair removal. On average 6-10 sessions will be needed to complete treatment of the area.
